One of the most common questions we get is: "How long am I going to be without a kitchen?" It's a valid concern—the kitchen is the heart of the home, and being without it is disruptive.
While every project is unique, here is a realistic guide to what you should expect from a professional team:
The Strip-Out (1–2 days)
This is where the old kitchen is removed and the space is prepared for the new installation.
First Fix (1–3 days)
Any necessary plumbing or electrical re-routing happens here. This is the groundwork for everything to come.
The Installation (2–4 days)
This is the core work—cabinets go in, worktops are fitted, and the layout takes shape.
Second Fix & Finishing (1–2 days)
This includes connecting appliances, installing splashbacks, and adding the finishing touches.
The Bottom Line
A standard kitchen project usually takes between one to two weeks. If your project is significantly longer or shorter, ask your fitter why! Transparency is key.
Note: Quartz, granite or marble will need templating after the base units have been secured and fitted. This means depending on the speed of the worktop, you may run into week 3 or even 4 for connecting up the hob and plumbing in the sink unit. If you're having a renovation of the whole area, the process will be longer.
At Fitter Digital, we match you with professionals who are upfront about their timelines and committed to finishing on schedule so you can get back to normal life as quickly as possible.
